Excessive Thirst

I have been so, so thirsty. I'm constantly drinking water. When I get up in the night to pee, I have to drink a good 8-10 oz, and that's a couple times in the night.

Yesterday, I decided to use a water bottle so that it couldn't get tipped over, and it was bigger than a glass. It also had oz. printed on the side. Because of that, I got a better idea of just how much I'm drinking a day. It's at least 200 oz. That seems like an awful lot.

I've been googling this, and it points to GD. I was borderline GD with my last baby, and failed the 1 hour test with #2. However, I passed the glucose test a few weeks ago.

Is there any other explanation? Or maybe 200+ oz. of water a day isn't so much?

My first thought was GD, too. I know that excessive thirst is one of the big indicators of diabetes. I would call your doc to check. Click here to enlarge

By the way, I don't think I consume 200 oz. of water a week. I would float away. Click here to enlarge

I easily consume *at least* 200oz. per day of water - but I have Diabetes Insipidus (not related to sugar/insulin at all). I think it is alot to be drinking without something being out-of-whack, so I would call your doc and see what they say.

Do you still have your meter? I would do a couple of fasting and post-meal checks and call your doctor.

Click here to enlarge Yes, and I still think it's nearly as fun as POAS. I'll check my blood sugar every once in a while, and 90% of the time, the levels are within normal range. Every once in a while it's a bit high, but that's definitely the exception. My fasting blood sugar this am was 90. I'll check it again after it's been an hour since my sandwich and see what it says then.

So 200 oz. a day is as extreme as I thought it was?

200oz is rather extreme. On the up side, you must have a bladder of steel!

I drank a lot during my last pregnancy, and my sugar was fine. I don't think it was THAT much thoughClick here to enlarge. I would definitely call your dr and at least ask what they think.
