What are you bringing baby home in?

I don't have an outfit yet Click here to enlarge

I wish I had time for a babiesrus run this weekend.

My mom took me shopping a couple of weeks ago. This is our "go home from the hospital outfit"

I also got a sweet little blankie that matches.

Babies R Us has the cutest frog line right now. I just HAD to get the overalls. They're sooooo cute.

But, that's not what I'm bringing home the baby in. I'll bring him home in this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...aby/outfit.jpg I'm not overly thrilled with it, but it'll do. I guess.

Mel, did I miss something? Are you pregnant again? Click here to enlarge Congrats!

As for me, I'm having the baby AT home, so I won't be bringing him anywhere except maybe the pediatrician that first week Click here to enlarge

I did, however, carefully select a 'first photo' outfit Click here to enlarge

I've just put onsies and sleepers on the kids. We did leave the birth centre 3 hours after they were born though, and they were winter babies, so warmth was way more important than appearance. This time I'm planning to stay at home, so probably a sleeper again as first outfit.

I had a homebirth with dd and we didn't know the gender yet. I dressed her in one of ds' old onesies and when we sent out pictures via email we got so many "Oh, what a cute boy!" comments.

Is a onesie enough for a newborn in the summer? Don't their little arms, legs and feet get cold?

I'll have the little pants and a blanket too, but even my September baby spent a lot of time in onesies. Click here to enlarge

I brought ds home in a onesie but it was august in Louisiana. His arms and legs didn't stand a chance of getting cold.
I don't know what this one will wear. I haven't started shopping yet. I'm afraid once I start I won't be able to stop.

We're having a home birth too, so this is not a decision I have to make. Click here to enlarge Although, I never really got into the whole "home from the hospital" outfit stuff - I just picked an outfit and didn't put a whole lot of thought into it. Click here to enlarge

I bought an adorable tiny blue outfit from Janie & Jack...or Jack & Janie....some pretentious baby store. Click here to enlarge It's plain blue cotton with a star on the front, and I got a plain blue cotton hat with a star on it. It's much cuter than I'm making it sound. Stupid camera that won't let me post pics. Click here to enlarge

Something light and cottony. It's going to be either July or August in Reno. It WILL be hot.

yeah, I'm with spicoli and mystickal... I don't really get the whole going home outfit thing either. Is there going to be a party when you get there or something? Leaving the hospital was such a nightmare last time (it was unbelievable the amount of crap that accumulated in just a day or two) I was happy I even remembered the baby.

They take their picture and I don't know I just like to have something special. Click here to enlarge

I plan to stay 24 hours but depending on the time of day, I may end up not making it that long. My original reason for my 24 hour rule was the newborn screening, but Carter had an abnormal result from doing it so soon, so I may just take her back to have it done after a good 48.

You are all a bunch of shopping buzzkills, except Mel Click here to enlarge

I haven't bought anything yet. There is no Babierus in this town, and the Toysrus has a shitty selection. We are going south next weekend, hopefully I'll hit Babiesrus then and find some cute things. I loved the Koala Baby brand they had when I was pg w/Zach.

I may also go check out the outfit that FP listed Click here to enlarge I love the stars/moon stuff. Zach had a moon/stars room, and this one will, too Click here to enlarge

This time I want something really soft and cozy. I was thinking of something very simple in organic cotton. Now I have to determine if it should be short or long sleeved. Although he will be born at the end of July, it will be an airconditioned hospital, car and house, and I don't want him to get too cold. Click here to enlarge
