Name question.

So what do you all think of the name Maybelle? I love it but dh thinks it's too unusual. I don't think that matters too much anymore as there are alot of unusual names around. Ds has a pretty uncommon name also.

I like it, but I think most people will end up calling her Mabel.

I like May, and I like Belle, but I don't know if I like them together. Not that it matters what I like, since it's your kid.

What about May Belle? Then you wouldn't have the "Mabel" problem that Satori mentioned.

I thought of that but her middle name is going to be my Mom's middle name and don't want a ton of middle names. We would either call her May or Belle though.

The middle name would be Jane. I guess I feel like it needs something interesting as a first name. Maybe not though.

I like it. I think it was the sister's name in the movie "The Bridge to Teribithia."

I also think it's pretty spelled Maebelle. It's less like Maybelline that way. Click here to enlarge

Somewhere there was a cow named Maybelle. That's the first thing I thought of but I can't remember where I have heard that. An old TV show maybe?

The first *person* I thought of was Maybelle Carter.

So Maybelle, nay. Mabel, better.

I am not in love with Maybelle, because it makes me think of Maybelline makeup.

It made me think of a cow too. That, and there's some children's story about a cable car who I think is also named Maybelle. I'm not so into it, but it's not awful.

I also immediately think of a cow when I hear the name "Maybelle" Click here to enlarge

I wanted to name this baby "Stella Jane" if it was to be a girl but Dh wouldn't have it.

I thought of the Terebithia sister immediately, not a cow and not Mabel. I like Mabel better, to be honest.
