Oh Jesus, would you just let me think about it?

For Pete's sake...every single time I go to the dr. they push me to set a date for induction. The only reason I would be induced is because my labor was fast with dd and so it will probably be faster this time. Today, they wanted me to schedule it for 8-25. I said no because dd starts school on 8-27, and plus I'M NOT EVEN SURE I WANT TO BE INDUCED. Grrr. Why are they pushing me so hard?

During my appt., the dr.'s beeper was going off like crazy and she said, "Well, we try to get them all to deliver before lunch, but sometimes that doesn't happen." And she laughed. I don't think I'm happy with this.

The pressure for induction would annoy me. I think the deliver before lunch comment might send me over the edge though. 8/25 is well over a month away so what's the rush to schedule? Is your dr. going on vaction on 8/26 or something?

The hospitals are making their schedules now. I've already scheduled dd (I love typing that) for August 21st at 10. It's a c-section and ds has his first day of school on Aug 27th also so I wanted to be out by then. It's a good thing I don't like surprises. I would hate being pressured if I wasn't sure though. Can you schedule then cancel if you change your mind?

I think if that were me I'd be asking them exactly what you typed.
WHY ARE YOU PUSHING SO HARD FOR AN INDUCTION? I think that's bullshit.

ONE of the doctors in my group ended up pushing me to schedule a c-section, but not until I hit the 40 week mark. I can't believe they are pressuring you so early. Click here to enlarge

Huh, my doctors won't LET me schedule my induction more than a week in advance, and that's annoying to me.

That would make too much sense. Click here to enlarge

I get a little overwhelmed when thinking about it. I mentioned I would rather go naturally, and she said, "Well, you'd better make sure your husband can catch a baby." That scares me. A lot. Especially because my mother's second child was accidentally born at home. And it makes me want to listen to them and just do the induction, but I'm trying to stay clear-headed about it.

How fast was your last labour? Is this your second baby?

My fastest labour was 3 hours from the time I realized that yep, this is it. The next labour was 6 hours.

I was wondering how fast your labor was, too. I think it's RIDICULOUS that they are pushing so hard and using scare tactics on you. That's professional, huh?

My last labor was a little over 4 hours from first contraction to holding baby and the doctors here so far aren't even considering scheduling an induction due to travel time, labor length, etc.

I hope they lay off and let you think and make your own decision.
