an open letter to the authors of What to Expect While You're Expecting

Fuck you.

Fuck you in they eye.

I spent two entire pregnancies already feeling paranoid about every single food item I put in my mouth.

Is it very "best odds" friendly? No? Okay. I'll put it down.

Do you really want that bagel made with white flour instead of the organic whole wheat goat bran muffin sprinkled with flax seed? For shame!

Why on earth would you want a sip or two of Seven Up when you know the risks of sugar and the like on your UNBORN BABY! You Outlander! You whore!

Yes, I know that you have fantastic nutritious advice. I follow most of it. But for the love of all that is holy, don't stress me out if I decide to eat a cookie that isn't (gasp!) sweetened with fruit juice.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Tomatohead

I didn't have that one, I had "what to expect the first year". And actually made some of the "cupcakes" suggested for a child to eat for their first birthday.

I brought them to daycare, not a single child ate more than a bite. I never bothered with another one of the recipes. The only thing the book did help me with was breastfeeding.

That book, and all of the spin-offs, suck donkey balls.

Unless you're a dumb ass - in that case, it's invaluable. Click here to enlarge

That book should be banned.

Yeah, I followed it religiously during my first pregnancy and I'm doing no books for this one. I still remember everything it said not to do though and feel bad when I do any of them so I might as well just read it again Click here to enlarge.

It's not a feeling, it's a knowing.

I'll buck the trend, I don't think her kids are all that in the cute department. not all kids are cute. they have other attributes that make up for that, but look at tweedle's aiden, that is a cute kid. and your kids mel, those are adorable kids. Her's are average. I wouldn't take a second look passing her on the street.
