I did the following:

* Went on a low sodium diet. It's not supposed to make a difference, but my edema in the ankles had gotten SO BAD and polyhydramnios makes edema worse (more pressure on the vascular system) so it couldn't hurt.

* Took 3 days of a homeopathic remedy called nat mur. I took EXACTLY what I read from various sources, and took the lowest potency possible.

* Low(ish) sugar diet, in case gestational diabetes was causing the polyhydramnios (it wasn't).

* Epsom salts baths--3 days in a row on, 4 days off, repeating. 2-3 cups of epsom salts in a bath and then I soaked for an hour. I took 36 ounces of water to drink, and peed out at least as much during the bath (not IN the bathtub Click here to enlarge). Boy did those baths reduce the edema dramatically--by day 2 I could see a huge difference, and I see an increase in edema during the 4 days I don't do the baths.

I have NO IDEA if any of that helped reduce my amniotic fluid. But it made me feel like I could "do something" instead of just panicking.

Oh--and the CNMs are not talking induction anymore. The high risk OB still wants to monitor and "see if it's needed."

I say bullshit to that if my fluid levels remain below polyhydramnios level, because I have ZERO other risk factors--I'm GBS negative (woot!) and have has 8,000 tests this week ruling out other risk issues.

So watch--I'll go two weeks over Click here to enlarge

So glad that all that hard work was worth it. I can't even imagine how uncomfortable you must have been.
