"Maybe it's twins!"

I'm at 16 weeks and I swear I feel movement. Not necessarily flutters, more like "pops." MIL (who had 5 kids) seems to think this is a month too early to feel anything, and maybe it's twins!

She's crazy, right?

RIGHT?

With my first DS, I felt movement around 17 weeks. There was only one of him! I don't think 16 weeks is too early.

I started feeling this little guy at 16 weeks.

It's not a feeling, it's a knowing.

I'll buck the trend, I don't think her kids are all that in the cute department. not all kids are cute. they have other attributes that make up for that, but look at tweedle's aiden, that is a cute kid. and your kids mel, those are adorable kids. Her's are average. I wouldn't take a second look passing her on the street.

It's normal to feel movement earlier with second pregnancies. Not sure why you'd feel movement earlier with twins.

I believe her theory is that there's 2 of them moving around in there and that's why I feel more movement.

I'm sure twins are fun, but I don't really know where I'd put the other one! Our current setup is pretty much geared to 2 kids. (Including the one we already have.)

Well, it is your 2nd pregnancy, right? I don't know your body frame size, however, if you are smaller framed you will feel movement earlier.

I am not smaller framed by any means but I felt this critter moving around 17 weeks this time. That is over a month sooner than I felt with my twins in my first pregnancy!

Other symptoms of a twin pregnancy would be showing significantly sooner (which is also typical in subsequent pregnancies), unusually high HCG levels, and severe morning sickness (although I never had it).

Good luck!

As others have mentioned, you tend to feel it earlier with your second pregnancy. With my first, it wasn't till about 20wks. With this one it was at 14.5wks and she's been kickin' and a-thumpin' ever since. There is most definately only one in me.

I felt #1 at 20 weeks, and #2 at 17, I think.
