I need another monitor. I would like one where Scott and I could talk between them (and even to the baby if possible), and I would like them to be long range.

Otherwise what is your favorite monitor?

Mine doesn't have an intercom function - but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I honestly woudn't have gotten a good nights sleep without it.

I have an Angelcare Monitor. An alarm sounds if it senses no movement for 15 seconds.

I was terrified of SIDS, and my baby had a heart condition and RSV at 4 weeks. I slept soundly knowing that the alarm would sound if my baby stopped breathing or moving for more than 15 seconds.

I was very fortunate that my baby prefered to sleep in her own crib, otherwise the monitor wouldn't have worked.

I used the AngelCare Monitor with Xena and it went off twice in her 6th week. We were co-sleeping half the time and using it the other half. Our doctor had a sleep study done on her, which she failed, and she was put on an apnea monitor for several months.
It's expensive, but a worthwhile investment.

We have these:
and are very happy with them. Never once had a problem. I used to take it out in the front yard while puttering around in the garden and it was still crystal clear.

We have the Fisher Price:

It has an intercom so you can talk to your baby through the monitor. It does make a bit a static, however if you keep the volume turned fairly low its not too bad.

She also really enjoys the lightshow. Its very cute.
