Brewmasters- a reality show about the goings on at Dogfish Head Brewery.

I have only caught part of the second episode. My beer guy said they sold out of the BitchesBrew two days after the first episode aired.

WOO! HOO!

Dogfish Head Squall IPA

Delicious.

Tasty beer, hoppy but not an over the top bitter thing. :drool

VERY NICE

I was at the grocery outlet store today when behold! - there was a stack of six packs of Ed Hardy by Christian Audigier beer - complete with tattoo decorations.

I couldn't wait to get home and try some (of course I bought both a regular and a lite). I called up my daughter and son in law to come have a beer with me. I mean come on - beer for d-bags! Who can resist?

The consensus was that it tastes like Corona. It is brewed in Tecate, Mex. My daughter thought it smelled funny. We decided it was the smell of over-priced cheap cologne.

:rofl Jon and Kate minus taste!

turkeyjoe 12-23-2010 08:23 PM

tonight's sampling.......

Victory Yakima Glory Ale

Well, Yakima means HOPS and I was expecting a hoppy beer from the people that created HOP DEVIL and HOP WALLOP.

Not to be, this was a beer along the lines of Stone's Arrogant Bastard. Big malt along for the ride. Rate beer lists it as a "black IPA"

I like it, but it is a serious beer.

Girardin Gueuze Black Label

This is what happens when you wander the web. Dry woody, fruity not too funky. Did I mention dry? Not much happening. I'm sure I don't appreciate the style, but I would rather drink a host of other beers before drinking this one again. (and it's expensive)

I had the Sierra Nevada Grand Cru on tap (review on previous page)
Tasty :drool

Well if you blinked you may have missed Bell's Hopslam this season. It appears to have sold (out?) briskly.

Two Brothers Ebels Weiss Beer
There is something in this beer that is very pronounced, maybe clove or wheat.
I like this beer.

an oddity

Goose Island Pepe Nero

unusual Saison, black with funky yeast notes, at one point I tasted shoe.

"You mean leather?" :nerd

No, I tasted SHOE! Weird, not something I would taste again.

Grand Teton Pursuit of Hoppiness

Imperial Red, mmmmm I liked it. Strong, bitter, but overly hoppy.

turkeyjoe 01-28-2011 06:24 PM

:knockuout

Dupont Avec les Bons Voeux

Stronger version of the Saison

turkeyjoe 02-01-2011 06:55 PM

BrewDog Punk IPA

Bitter and soapy, not pleasant. Maybe an old bottle?

Oso Dank Imperial Red on tap, not much to right home about, I really like the Lagunitas Imp Red, this is nothing like that.

Oso Hopdinger Pale Ale

Rates low, but I liked it. Nice pale ale.

turkeyjoe 02-01-2011 07:20 PM

Goose Island Night Stalker

A beer in honor of Karl Kolchak, The "journalist" anti-hero from 70s TV lore.

It's a dry hopped Imperial Stout and it is tasty. /dance

Yum.

turkeyjoe 02-11-2011 07:05 PM

Southern Tier 2xIPA

perhaps it's the name, 2X implies double something is about to occur. Unearthly is an incredible beer and their IPA rates high as well. This is just good.

Birra Moretti

Eye-talian beer! in the shopping cart of broken beers .25 cents a beer. 5- pack only $1.27. It's still a Weak beer.

For you wine lovers, I don't normally do this but, this is my birthplace.

Goose Island Matilda

Belgian ale, tasty and different, but not too far out there. :contest

turkeyjoe 03-26-2011 08:25 PM

New Glarus Fat Squirrel Nut Brown Ale

Never a big nut ale fan, but this I like. Light, but tasty.

Oskar Blues G’Knight (Gordon)

On tap @ Uncle Mike's
later @ home,
In a can.

Nice style, full bodied, hoppy Imperial Red.

Named after a beer legend:

Dogfish Head Theobroma

On tap, a strong beer with a hint of chili towards the end. Meh.

Half Acre Daisy Cutter

Pale Ale in a can, a little bitter and dry on the finish.

turkeyjoe 05-06-2011 07:10 PM

Dogfish Head My Antonia

Reminds me of a Saison with spices and dry finish, Definite head and lacing.
Interesting.
