help me :(

How exactly can I change things so that so many fucking programs don't open when I start my pc? It seems like every program I have is sitting on my taskbar. How do I change it? Click here to enlarge

Points to be had if you can help - I'm running Windows 2000. TYIA.

I would love to help, truly I would, but the only way my taskbar disapeared was when my 2 year old climbed onto the chair and started pushing buttons. I dont know what he did.Click here to enlarge But my taskbar is gone. Click here to enlarge

I hope someone helps you! These skanks still have yet to tell me how to erase my second operating system from my computer. Click here to enlarge

And Julie said "Futz", "Futz" said Julie.
"Futz around until my return."
The definition of "futz" was something we had yet to learn,
But we tried to do it anyway, anyway,
'Cause Julie, we'll do anything you say.

You need to delete the programs you don't want to run at startup from your start up folder. Make sure they are just icons (but usually that is all they are).

Yes, the first step is to delete programs from your Startup folder. Some programs autostart even though they aren't listed in the Startup folder--with these programs, you need to right click on their taskbar icon, then look through the options to find to see the box to check/uncheck on whether to run program at startup.

OK, so this is risky, but the very best way. Proceed with CARE since you can really fuck yourself over here.

Start/run Msconfig. Hit the startup tab. That's everything set to run. You can uncheck things to disable them. You can get stuff here that you can't get anywhere else.

You can also selectively disable services. Don't know what that means? Don't go there, you WILL regret it. Hell, even if you know what it means, you can really do a number on yourself in services. I speak from experience.

well fuck, neither of those things work. when i try to run msconfig i'm told it can't find any such file. there's only one thing in the startup folder and it's a program, not an icon. Click here to enlarge

There has to be an MSCONFIG. I wonder why it won't find it?? Mine is located here: C:\WINDOWS\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\BINARIES\msconfig.exe. You could hit Window Explorer and see if you can find it that way.

If nothing else, try searching for win.ini or system.ini. It might turn it up, that way. Click here to enlarge

And Peent, I just found this artivcle because I was intriqued and wondered how my kids had not yet done that to me. Click here to enlarge http://home.earthlink.net/~leetutor/...k/misstbar.htm
