If your childs father is not involved

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any books, articles or any type of resources that can help me explain to my ds about his uninvolved father. He's never met his father, and his father does not want to be involved at all. I've checked the library and I've attempted to find info on the web , but what key words are you supposed to google? -dads who suck? I can imagine the results I'd find if I wrote that.

I've had a few conversations with my ds (6 y/o) about his dad, and for now he's okay with my answers, but I feel unprepared for further discussions regarding his father.

Has anyone been faced with this issue? and if so how did you deal with it and prepare for it?

TIA

I don't know. DD and I were watching a program the other day with all this talk about Dads. She said 'You are my Daddy" and I said "No, i'm your mommy". She replies "Who's the Daddy?" And I changed the subject Click here to enlarge

She'll be 3 in two weeks. I really need to work on this. Obviously.

I'll be looking back here often. Click here to enlarge

My ds is 4 and this has not come up yet. I will do some googling and see if I can come up with anything.

Muse, Thank you and good luck.

I just spent an hour searching on google and I can't find anything relevent. I did find hundreds of articles about absent fathers and the likeliness of my ds ending up in jail, using drugs and so on, if his father is absent. I am so sick of seeing that crap. I'll continue my search tonight, and hopefully find something.
