The Birth of KBaby

KBaby’s first ultrasound dated her pregnancy with an estimated “due date” of April 25th. All of my previous children’s early ultrasound dates had EDDs several days prior to when they actually arrived, and I felt confident she would follow the same pattern. I never even had the chance to get antsy, looking at the calendar, snarfing spicy foods, or trying every old wives’ tale in the book. KBaby surprised me.

The night I hit my 40 weeks mark, CBaby was especially fussy getting to bed....

The Benefits of Wide Spacing

And other related stuff.

I anticipated some of the joys of having this baby so far after my older two, such as having the big kids be big helpers, and being able to sneak the occasional nap during school hours. I didn't see everything coming, though.

I didn't realize how much calmer I would be with him. Maybe he is a calmer baby, or maybe I am older and calmer, but at the end of the day, we are not stressed out, usually. I don't panic over every little quirk.

The Story of the Birth of Cbaby I

Posted 03-01-2009 at 09:46 AM by terra

Because I am so detail-oriented ;) I think this story begins on Valentine’s Day. (You may want to skip ahead. A lot. :lol) By my charting/ovulation, my estimated due date was February 13th. By 8 week ultrasound, estimated due date was the 14th. By LMP, estimated due date would be the 15th, and my records had the 16th, so on Valentine’s Day, I was somewhere between 40w1d and 39w5d. My husband and I had an early date at The Melting Pot. I figured fondue would be hard to get to do after having a baby,...

That evening, just before 11, I noticed some teaser contractions. They were puny, and while I didn’t want to do anything that might stop them, I decided to head to bed. I figured, if they were...

Oooooookay, baby, I'm ready! You can come ouuuuut nooooow.

:lol

I only have one day's worth of evening primrose oil left. I have been predicting today to be Baby Day pretty much since conception. My midwife mentioned, based on my other babies, she thought it might be around today. (I was so excited to hear her prediction matched mine without me sharing mine.) My husband used me as an excuse to work from home yesterday, saying that I was having contractions (I...
