The Story of the Birth of Cbaby I

Because I am so detail-oriented ;) I think this story begins on Valentine’s Day. (You may want to skip ahead. A lot. :lol) By my charting/ovulation, my estimated due date was February 13th. By 8 week ultrasound, estimated due date was the 14th. By LMP, estimated due date would be the 15th, and my records had the 16th, so on Valentine’s Day, I was somewhere between 40w1d and 39w5d. My husband and I had an early date at The Melting Pot. I figured fondue would be hard to get to do after having a baby, so I wanted to take the opportunity. Plus, I figured there was no way I would have a baby by then, as Bbaby had come at 40w3d, and Gbaby had come at 40w5d- him after about a week of nightly contractions.

I was right, and had the chance to enjoy my date, but that evening, I did have some serious contractions. It didn’t feel like it was the right time, but it felt like a warning signal that it was time to get every last detail in order. I spent a couple hours making mental lists while I picked up and cleaned up, did laundry, dishes, that sort of thing. Contractions picked up during this time, despite making sure I stayed hydrated and used the bathroom often. When I had done what I felt I *needed* to have done if it was baby-time, I had some dinner, and took a bath. Contractions spaced out, and eventually stopped before I went to bed.

By Tuesday, February 17th, I was starting to feel ready to actually have a baby. Wednesday the 18th had been the date on my mind for months, the date I felt would be Baby Day. My husband and I had been daydreaming that I would start labor late one morning, and deliver later that day. He was hoping for late afternoon; I hoped for early evening. Nothing happened Tuesday. Wednesday, it looked like a day of the same.
