rebel - it was the daughter, Crie - although the "three graces" (the three old women who spent Christmas together) claimed they did it and then walked out on the lake.

Well she took it back to the library before I could finish it, so I'll have to check it out again later. I believe she has Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life now, she is reading all of them now.

I haven't been able to read all that much of it yet, but it isn't seeming as good as the other I read. I'm glad Abbie's into them, she is going to check more of her books out so we can read together.

rebel, it's not that I notice covers so much as that "The Spymaster's Lady" has one of those really cringe-worthy stereotypical romance novel covers.

No, you shouldn't read "Dark of Night". Too many characters, too much backstory. If you want a romance recommendation I could come up with something better. I'd have to think about it.

so, d'you think I should read "Dark of Night"? or something else she wrote? I haven't read a romance novel since reading Barbara Cartland when I was in high school.

Hell, you were talking about Konigsburg and "The View from Sat." when you said "she really let us down with this one", weren't you?

I thought you were a closet romance reader and were commenting on "Dark of Night".

rebel, I just saw your comment about "Dark of Night".

Were you a Decker-Sophia fan? I liked Dave & Sophia and Tracy & Decker.

The books seem to be getting too "busy", what with all the characters from the past books getting included. But I keep reading them.
