Liza Doolittle She's been discharged and we're on our way home. A therapist from mental health was in and she and Rayne created an action plan. There's a team meeting with Rayne's psychiatrist and regular therapist tomorrow morning, and then Rayne has an appointment with her therapist tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully we'll get in to see the psychiatrist again soon.

Fucking shit.

A bit of an update. Rayne has been on Prozac for a couple of months and it has helped. She's still going back and forth on the gender spectrum and we haven't made the jump to switching names and pronouns. She's still shaving, has a boyfriend, etc. I think she's still figuring out who she is.

Last night, though, she took 4 Prozac and then immediately came and told me. I took her into the ER and they gave her some activated charcoal and sent her by ambulance to the hospital in the next town over (there's an RN or paramedic on site here at night but no doctor). It really wasn't a dangerous dose and I wonder if some of these precautions were for impact. It was not a pleasant experience for her.

I switched off with dh and he followed the ambulance. The mental health clinic where she gets services is involved and they're liaising with the hospital this morning. No word yet on whether or not she'll be admitted, and if so, for how long.

It was obviously not a serious attempt, or she was able to stop it before it became one. But please kill some chickens for us, ok? She's 13 and my baby, goddammit. This sucks.
