Essilaia My 13 y.o. daughter started spending the whole evenings with her older bf. We asked her to slow down her relationship because we think that it's intense, but she just said that she is mature enough and that nothing sexual is going on between them. Today she said - "if you don't wanna me to have sex with Anthony, just buy me this." And she gave me the link to the sex toy - https://lovermart.com/product/sensue...ator-purple-2/. How should I react to this? My husband says that kids are already doing such things at her age, so we should allow her to use sex toys!!!

La Dee Frickin' Da I have been completely honest with sexuality with my girls from the get-go and I am by no means a prude but...WTF??? My oldest is 12 and I don't think she has any idea what a vibrator is, but it would be a cold day in hell before I would gift wrap one and put it under the Christmas tree for her!

SouthernTwinMama We are really damned open and my kids have asked me all kinds of questions, and I even think my 12 yr olds might know what a vibrator is, but I can't imagine them asking me or dh for one. I'd be really concerned if I was in his shoes.

This is what freaks me out. Most of the responses have been back patting about how awesome it is that she's so secure with herself and her relationship with her dad that she felt comfortable asking this. Also, nearly all responders seemed to think it was a super idea for him to help her acquire one. I felt like that was not a good idea, and wondered if I'm just an old prude.

RNdoesTX I'd be concerned about possible sexual abuse. 12 is really young to be sexually confident enough to verbally express the desire for a masturbation aid to a parent.
