REDSOXMAMA So some blogger wrote a post about how the Starbucks lady said she had a golden life because she was headed off to vacation to Italy with her husband. Then said blogger held onto that poignant moment for 6 years before blogging about it. Turns out that yes, blogger has a fancy pants job at a super awesome gallery and she does dress nicely and is an incredible artist BUT she has self esteem issues, carries peanut butter with her because of food aversions and was going to Italy because she had just experienced a miscarriage. And really you never know what kind of struggle the person you assume has a "golden life" is dealing with.

Tweedle took offense to the post and called her on it. Blogger blocked tweedle.

I think 6 years is a long time to hold on to a off handed remark. I also think that people who have the means forget that there are plenty of women who are going through the same things you are and don't have the luxury of heading off to the spa or Italy to heal their soul.
I think this woman was legitimately grieving her miscarriage. I also think she needs some perspective and a better process of writing a blog that says "everyone is fighting their own battles - don't assume you know what they are". She came off as navel gazing about a painful time in her life and it didn't translate well.

Express66 I am sorry for that woman's miscarriage but I can't bring myself to feel sorry for someone who brags about working in some rich art gallery and can fly off on vacation when things get tough. Had she not bragged and had she just been real about life it would have been an ok article. I have a good job, I have infertility, I have had a miscarriage (my one and only pregnancy) and I have my fair share of struggles - none of which compare to so many others. And I could give two shits what my barista thinks of me.

I actually saw part of that. That's not really what I'm talking about, but it does add to it.

Seriously, if Judy is gone, it doesn't really matter. I just wanted to let her know that she was a better judge of character in this instance. I always gave her a hard time for being wrong about it, but she was right.

Heck, she probably doesn't even remember.

Now, back to "golden". We all think that others have it so good. Those that fly to Italy and have money and look good? But, sometimes, that is all just a cover-up for a real sense of loneliness and sadness. That was the point, I think, of that G's chick post.

And yeah, I think Tweedle is kind of a self-centered pretentious twit who expects the world to be painted golden for her. So, it really is ironic for her to be making fun of someone else suffering.

BUT, maybe she is hurting and lonely, too. Who am I to say, really.

Not that THAT cleared anything up...
