EvilBad Dh. He doesn't need anything and wants very little that he doesn't already have. Ds I'm already done shopping for.

It's awesome.

My kids were a snap this year, but they're old.

The guy I'm dating is sort of a challenge for me. It hasn't been all that long, but I have to get him something. For his birthday in October I got him a huge cookbook I knew he wanted. Was thinking of springboarding off of that and putting together a basket with some cool cooking gadgets, fresh pasta in unusual flavors and sauces from a little shop that just opened downtown, and maybe a good bottle of bourbon.

REDSOXMAMA We love our snap circuits. I bought a big set when they were the December Jesus some years back. I also used them this summer for my STEM focused summer reading program when we did wiring.
I found a big bonus box of them at goodwill a couple months ago for $1.99. I about lost my mind when I saw this guy looking at them and he walked away with them tucked under his arm. I stalked him through the store and he set them down and left. Hahahaha sucka! Those snap circuits are MINE.

Yes, Again Snap circuits are so much fun. I just wish any one of my kids was bothered by clutter in their bedrooms.

Faster Pussycat Linus is my new challenge. He asked for Snap Circuits and a watch. If I get him more than those things he might actually be mad.
Last year, by January, he had given Deirdre every one of his gifts. He likes very few things and hates having a lot of stuff. His bedroom is like a ascetic's cell--bed, nightstand, dresser, desk. No shelves, no toys, no nothing. He has a mirror and a calendar on his walls, and no other decoration. I'm getting him an under-the-bed Rubbermaid box for the Snap Circuits, so he doesn't have to look at them.

TXchick As they get older the gifts get more expensive, and therefore fewer in number, which streamlines the process. I'm buying a total of 5 gifts this year.

bleedsink N (12) and my parents are my tough ones this year. We just settled on tickets to Annie this spring for N (along with a Lego set, clothes, and books).

My parents buy whatever they want or need. We're going to Disney with them in April so I've been thinking of one of the behind the scene tours for them. Beyond that I have no ideas for them.

PunkassPie We don't even have iphones or a samsung S5 or S6. Oh well, just one more way I am failing my children!

Small Town Ho Best Buy has an iPhone 6 for $1 with a 2 yr contract

WWF Just from being at most of the middle school activities I can tell you majority of kids have iphones or the samsung s5 or s6. Em does so much besides talk and text that its combining one of her beloved items into a two-fer. Lol

I got him some new pajamas and some tshirts, but I do that every year.

I want to get him something that he either really wants, or would love if he thought about it.

I just don't know WHAT. Although, he's an artist. Maybe some paints or other art supplies? I'm art-challenged so I have no idea.

:sigh
Put art supplies IN the toolbox to make it fun and practical both.

Even though it's for work he may still love it. Think about how much time he spends there. I just bought a new mouse for work and I would love a new laptop bag.

H is getting a cell phone for xmas and this is going to be his first phone. It's a smart phone and new but it's not an iphone. I know that's what he wants though, I hope he's happy he's getting one anyway because he really is one of the last of his friends to get one as well. I thought most kids just get their parents' old phone but now I'm wondering if I'm wrong about that and kids are getting brand new iphones

I expect this to be the hit for my 11 year old. She's getting an iphone, but how fun is a polaroid camera you take a pic with and get it instantly?
If she is like any of H's friends then yes, she is going to love that camera.

Just for my curiosity, is she getting a new iphone?
