If your like we are, there isn't anything else. Comcast is a quarter mile from my house but because we live in a dirt road with a county drain cutting through at one point, no cable Internet for us! It stinks! My son gets so mad playing xbox because he is always a half step behind in games.

And if you use heavy like we do, you will use all of your mobile data in a hot minute.

PunkassPie Could the smart phones use their data plan instead of wifi?

EvilBad Unless they give you more bandwidth, you'll still be competing for it between your devices. However, if your router can't handle the load of all the devices, it might help.

Nodakbabe What are your actual speeds? have you run a speed test? http://www.speedtest.net/

a second modem would only work if you also had a second line going into it.

computer people

I have frontier broadband @ 6mbps or something because I live in the middle of nowhere and that is what I can get.

With Ds's xbox connected to it via Ethernet cable and our desktop connected via cable, I now have 4 smart phones and 1 laptop that are competing for the internet. To say shit is slow is an understatement.

I chatted with frontier, and I have the best package available in my area. They offered to send me a second modem, which I can pay 15.99 a month for to increase my bandwidth.

Will this actually help? If I have slow as shit internet, how is a second modem going to help me? I replaced the router and modem last year, and still have the old modem. can I just hook that one up?
