|PunkassPie||Could the smart phones use their data plan instead of wifi?|

|Ella Noise||thanks! I didn't think it sounded right. I need to get a better service provider. rural living has its advantages and disadvantages. This is definitely a disadvantage.|

|EvilBad||Unless they give you more bandwidth, you'll still be competing for it between your devices. However, if your router can't handle the load of all the devices, it might help.|

What are your actual speeds? have you run a speed test? http://www.speedtest.net/
a second modem would only work if you also had a second line going into it.

I have frontier broadband @ 6mbps or something because I live in the middle of nowhere and that is what I can get.
With Ds's xbox connected to it via Ethernet cable and our desktop connected via cable, I now have 4 smart phones and 1 laptop that are competing for the internet. To say shit is slow is an understatement.
I chatted with frontier, and I have the best package available in my area. They offered to send me a second modem, which I can pay 15.99 a month for to increase my bandwidth.
Will this actually help? If I have slow as shit internet, how is a second modem going to help me? I replaced the router and modem last year, and still have the old modem. can I just hook that one up?
