Complicated Well Has he tried acutpuncture? I had that done and it did wonders!!! It is kinda costly though...I use to cheer back in highschool and i really hurt my back and I got that done and I never had back problems again!! I wish my DH is going to get out soon but we still have another 2 years! I bet sparks is going to fly when you see your DH! I know when DH got back we had the best sex ever!!!

Nodakbabe

Yeah well, I haven't had sex in almost a year. So quit yer bitchin'!

We learned the hard way that the only way to get real medical care for active duty is to hound them until they do something about it. Or to go into the ER with a high fever. The other reason we're looking so forward to DH getting out is that he can get chiropractic care for his back with private insurance, since Tricare doesn't cover it. It won't fix his back(nothing will) but it will help with the muscle tightness and pain he suffers.

EvilBad Could be that they took him off the pain meds to make sure they weren't masking the problem. That sucks, but hopefully he'll get some real answers now.

Nodakbabe Knowing military doctors, yep I can believe it!

Hopefully the tests will show what else is going on with him, good luck!

Complicated That is so great!!!

Well he did go in this morning and they took him off the artritis medicine and then put him on some medicine to help reduce swelling. Did some more blood work and urine test. They need to figure out whats going on. The doc said tough out the pain!! Can you believe that!

Nodakbabe So, did he go in again this morning? What did the doctor say?

Yes, I'm very happy that he's coming home soon. It will take alot of re-adjustment to get used to having him back(and my youngest will have to learn who daddy is) but I am happy. And he's out after this, not re-enlisting or anything.

Complicated im gooing to get thomas to go and ask the doc could it possibly be a joint infection.

I bet you are so happy that your DH is coming home! I know I was when mine did! he was gone for 4 months then they say he might be getting deployed again! I know it has to be tough with having kids and their daddy is gone.
I know it is so tough...you hang in there girl!!

Complicated we did 6 times and they gave him some medicine to bring his fever down and it worked and they tell him to go to sick call, and hes on crutches and after having a fever, sweating all night and they still didnt give him a SIQ ( sick in quaters)

Nodakbabe He could have a joint infection. He should definitely go to sick call in the morning. And make sure he describes all the symptoms, including the fever.

But, if his fever is that high, he should go to the ER, even in adults, a 104 fever is nothing to mess around with.

Complicated man...my husband said he is going to go everyday to the docs untill they figure out the problem! he has been night sweating at night and have 104.4 fever then his knee is bad..i hope its nothing serious...has anyone heard of the symptoms and know what it could be?

Nodakbabe DH has a bad back(he was diagnosed as having scoliosis, which should've barred him from enlisting, but it wasn't found until his first duty station, it's right in between his shoulder blades) Anyway, he went to sick call almost every day for 2 weeks, then they FINALLY did X-rays, and figured out the problem. Unfortunately, there is no real treatment for it because he's too old for any of the normal scoliosis treatments to work, so they ended up giving him a permanent no-running profile, and muscle relaxers.

Complicated yea finally a doctor we see is doing something he says it might be arthritis who knows the military is cheap on these men, now we here he might have to go over seas again just got back in july, you think they will send him with a hurt knee? just wondering
10-31-2003 01:39 AM
EvilBad If he's really that hurt then he needs to talk to his supervisor or first sergeant and get them to push the clinic to provide more.
The military will only do whatever costs them the least amount of money. Your DH's leg could be falling off, and they'd hand him some motrin and tell him to go to sick call the next day if it was really bothering him.
I've had issues with not being able to get seen even for sick call, even though I was sick as as a dog. My sup had to call and get an appt. for me to be seen just so that I could be put on quarters.
