PlayingGod The doctor did rule out Chrohn's with some sort of test, and I'm pretty sure it's IBS, not IBD.

I'll pass on what you said to her, I appreciate you both taking the time.

She read that Kelsey Gramer and his wife has to use a surrogate b/c she had IBS and couldn't stay pregnant, so that was upsetting to her.

However, it does seem as though everyone is different, so that's a good thing.

mollypop I have this as well.

it sucks, but i've kinda learned to live with it.

Califred said it best, lots of immodium.

Dairy is a big no for folks with IBS as well.

califred I have it, does she have Irritable Bowel Syndrome or Irritable Bowel Disease, the second is a bit more complicated than the first.

Mine is basically brought on by stress where I get bouts of having the runs. It is also aggravated by milk products. EVeryone is different. The thing is aside from changing your diet there isn't really anything you can do to make it better. FOr me taking Zoloft helps b/c it gets rid of my anxiety that is causing me the problems. (Some people get constipated instead of having the runs)

A doctor really can't help you except to rule out all the other things IBS could be. (Which involves a zillion really unpleasant tests) It doesn't affect my life really except I take a lot of Immodium.

I still function day to day just the same, but I've had it since I was 14. It doesn't really stop me from living life.

Maybe someone can help?

My little sister (20) has just been diagnoised with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Her doctor isn't really being helpful and had given her no good information (she's in the process of getting a new doctor).

Anyway, she's freaking out and any research she's been doing is not helping much.

Is there anyone here with experience with IBS? Anything telling me how your life has been affected would be helpful. Feel free to PM me and thanks in advance
