Fuck. There's a guy who I've had many anthro classes with over the past couple of years and he told me to avoid this teacher. I'm already in her class though. He's never gotten abelow an A in his academic career but he barely pulled a C in her class.

Geo 101 1 1 1 An absolute Meat Grinder!!! Her class is like what it would've been if D-Day Failed! You can't make any progress, she's mentally ill, and teaches this beginning-level class as if it's on Graduate Level! Altogther: one to avoid!!

This, on the other hand, is my mentor.

8/4/04 Anth 101 4 4 5 He is a great teacher during summer but during the normal semester he is 10 times harder. If you take his class, take during summer. You will learn a lot and it's an easy A.
7/21/04 Anth 101 4 4 5 Great class, but he is always talking about his personal life, sociologist and about being Irish Catholic. Expect a good amount of reading.
6/1/04 ANT 103 2 5 5 Funny and makes boring material fun and interesting. He knows his material and adds interesting facts to his discussions that the text doesn't mention.
12/24/03 Anth 101 3 5 5 Fantastic, engaging teacher. His enthusiasm for the subject matter allows the class to be interesting.

My math teacher isn't listed but he's an Asian guy and no one can understand a damn thing he says. He seems nice enough but this is algebra - I can barely get through the class when I understand every word coming out of the teacher's mouth.

Lasagna I Seriously use it to pick my electives. I check what's interesting, and see who has the best rating among those classes.

Some classes that have a great catalog description, the prof has horrible ratings, and yup, I've not chosen a class because of it. Just one person saying something great or shitty doesn't change my mind, but when EVERYone says the same thing...

My Philosophy class that I just started today, that professor has the most glowing rating that I've seen at my school so far. Not a single person said anything even remotely negative, and most people actually said that he's the best teacher they've Ever had. I couldn't pass that up, for a class that looks interesting anyway.

josiecat What a cool site. I see some remarks where I can identify a person or two who wrote them. Thanks for sharing.

Tattoo At least I loved my Anatomy and Algebra/Trig Teachers today. They are both great (well, so far ).

Tattoo Oh My God.

I just read reviews for my Psych professor, and I am seriously scared. Seriously.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8/23/04 PSY 140 2 3 5 The first few days were deceptive, his class is hard. Only the strong will survive. I spent a lot of time studying, but he has probably been my favorite teacher. My mid-range B was the highest grade in the class.
7/25/04 Psy140 3 1 1 This class itself is not hard at all. But he is ignorant and rude. Very mean to girls. Don't do it, he's an as shole
6/14/04 PSY 140 1 1 1 He is horrible. He must've thought he was teaching neuro science at U of P. He doesnt care about the students, nor their grades. He was more like if you passed then hooray for you.
4/18/04 PSY 140 1 3 3 Must think this is medical school. He really knows his stuff, but can't convey in a way I could understand. I had a difficult time and he was not very helpful.
4/1/04 Pyschology 4 4 5 Yes he seems to be hard but the final is optional and you can retake every exam
2/11/04 PYS 100 1 1 2 Covers to much material in a little time. Test would be more helpful it we were to do 3 chapters at the most. I think we should get to keep the questions to the test cause he just returns the answers and what good is it to study from if we dont know the &
12/8/03 PSY 2 1 1 Worst teacher!!! Drop his class immediately. I didn't learn anything from him. He was not very helpful at all.
12/8/03 PSY 140 1 1 1 The worst teacher I've had at this school. He's **** and rude. Girls - be cautious! Boys - may want to take notes. You have to have a very hight tollerance to take him.
11/28/03 Psy 140 2 2 2 This is a good course if you wanna read the book and teach yourself. The tests are hard to do well on even after completing all the reading and answering the questions for each chapter that he provides. Overall I'd say find a different teacher if possible
11/11/03 Psychology 1 1 1 Do not take any class that he teaches... I had him my first semester and still have nightmares about him! I have never heard anything good about him.

salty My Psych and English professors were rated very highly. Even though I've only been in one class with them so far, I have to agree that they're both great.

My Chem professor was rated "average", and the comments stated that she knows her stuff, but tends to move very quickly and expect you to "get it" the first time around. On her behalf, someone also stated that she's willing to help you in any way she can if you don't understand something, so that's a little relief. (I have my first Chem class in an hour, and I'm terrified. )

Diz I got a 91 in a class where my prof was rated unfair and psycho.

Sometimes it matters.
I have found most people will give low scores if the instructor actually makes you work for your grade.
If you are normally a good student, I wouldn't worry.
The chili pepper "hotness rating" thing has been wrong a coupla times.
