I only kept things like stories or poems they wrote, everything else i threw away.. Here is a great idea that I got from a lady who sold creative memories.. She takes pictures of all the art pictures her child had done and puts them in a scrapbook.. I thought this was really neat cause we really dont have room to keep all the art and craft stuff they make.. |

| charon | We have a plastic bin we keep it all in, though through the years we've pared it down to creative writing, journals and special art projects all sorted by year. |

| saffronne | You could try notebooking. Get a 3 ring binder and put some clear plastic page protectors in there. When something comes home you want to keep, pop it in there. If it's too big and your child wants to keep a record of it, take a picture and put the picture in the notebook. If the notebook gets too full, cull it. You could keep a notebook for each year if you wanted to. |

| shewhoisincharge | I have a rubbermaid container that we save stuff in. It's been used since Pre-K and its pretty much full. She starts 3rd this year, so it's time for a new one. |

| Sew Divine | I usually try to keep everything that she 'makes'. Most of the other papers (unless there is something special about them) I look at, make a big fuss over the great job, then toss 'em when she isn't looking. |

| Concordia | I go through them everyday & keep my favorites. I also scrapbook so when I am about to do a page for DS's album, I go through everything with him & he helps me pick our favorites. The absolute favorites go in the scrapbooks & the other favorites get mailed to the grandparents. |

I mail the Friday folder contents to doting Grandma A. (Grandma B dotes too, but gives lousy feedback). Grandma A sends long emails gushing about the improvements from month to month, then she puts it in the recycle bin. I only keep the year-end portfolios in a box in the attic. I've started scanning the emotional notes my DD writes and saving them in Word. |

| Becca | I keep a fair amount of stuff. I date it and put it in their "memory box". If they bring home a ton of pictures, I would pick the best one and keep it, and anything else goes in the trash. |

| califred | WE have one box the skinngy kind you slide under the bed. That's how much space he gets for papers, if/when it gets full he'll have to throw some of the things in there away. I only keep special stuff but with my dh gone I feel like it's all special. |

I toss almost everything. Special projects I'll keep for a few weeks. I have no room to store anything and no time either. My oldest did just do a painting that I like, so I'm going to frame and bring into my office. |

Both of mine bring home a Friday folder full of their work from the week. I let them pick out one or two things that they're especially proud of and we put it on the fridge for the week. If there's an special art project or craft, I put it in my 'pile of stuff to keep but don't know where to keep it' which is currently in my kitchen cabinet.

| Spetunia | I keep special graded papers, written stuff. There was an article recently about kids artwork. It suggested taking pictures of the artwork with a digital camera. You can turn it into refrigerator magnets and save a few originals. Or use the artwork as a border in their bedrooms. |

For me I usually don't keep the regular graded papers, there's just too many with the three kids I have. I keep special project papers, book reports they put a lot of work into. Special art work. I put some things on the wall I keep for their work and then others I have a box I put things into to keep for them. They come home with a stack every Friday. Just pick and choose, but just regular tests, in class work that really doesn't need to be kept. |

? for those with school aged kiddos You know how they bring tons of papers home...graded papers, drawings, etc? What in the world do you do with all of them, and how do you decide what to keep and what to toss? I am having a helluva time trying to figure out what to do with this endless array of paper that seems to have scattered themselves about the house. Any ideas? |
