DaWezl I've been told there's a catalogue that you get to pick from when you hit the milestone years. I think one person who was at 20 years got a telescope.

mab I work for a tiny retail store. I started in April but I hear the Christmas bonus is pretty great.

There is only one employee who has been there for longer than 4 years.

La Dee Frickin' Da Nothing, here.

Moonlight This reminds me of the cheap, mass produced pocket calendar we get from our division's SVP every year (along w/ a photocopied letter thanking us for our efforts)... and inevitably every year the trash can by the mail slots is packed full of the fuckers.

unfortunately, the asshole doesn't see them because he sends his secretary to drop off and retrieve mail. he's too good to mingle with the masses.

mum wal-mart gives bonuses. hourly associates get shareholders which is a percentage of the yearly sales. full time are getting about $600 this year and part time will get $300. i think that is pretty good.

managers get a % of their SWAS sales so it varies. one year the manager before me got $5000. we had a great year in the VC that year!

a wal-mart store manager in alberta recently retired after his store bonus was a cool million. he had one of the bigger stores in our region and was a fantastic manager. his yearly salary was over $250,000/yr too so he wasn't really hurting for cash. i think he had been with woolco/WM for 30yrs though.

i like that the mart shows their appreciation with cash. i don't need any more cack.

i noticed our store manager has a twenty year plaque on the wall in his office. he started out as a cart boy and worked his way up. despite walmart's bad rep they really do promote from within. at least here in canada.

F Dash Dash Dash Everyone gets an anniversary gift starting with your first anniversary. For my one year, I got a set of grilling tools. The anniversary gift this year is two of those portable chairs.

At last year's Christmas party, people who were there for seven years (that's how long the company's been opened) got a plaque.

Coco Oh we get pins too.
Usually they have a breakfast for you too.

Likin Love the pins The "trend" in HR service awards is the catalogue where you choose from the appropriate section based on your service. I prefer money but what can ya do

TangoMom A silver medal (or at least it pretends to be silver) for 25 yrs. A gold medal for 40, and a special diploma for 50.
Many of my friends were on the silver medal list this yr.
Money in bonuses? fine, thanks. All that disappeared on early 1990s.

The Seņora I used to work at a place where we received cack every five years. Now, I work at a place that pays me well and skips the cack.
12-07-2005 01:09 PM
Coco Yes we do.
For my 5 year I got a pretty gold ring with sapphires.
They send you this brochure type thing that you can pick from, based on anniversary.

blackandblue My company gives you a gift you get to pick out from their gift catalogue and they bring a coffee and juice cart to your area.

But I've only given my company 550 days of my life so I won't get anything until 5 years.... At one year they gave me a keychain!
12-06-2005 01:14 PM
AlrightyThen Oops, that's every 5 years the check goes up $100.
12-06-2005 01:14 PM
AlrightyThen For every 5 years we get a service pin and a longevity check. Each year the check goes up by $100 I think.

AMG A pen! OMD! You will like, totally cherish that for like, ever!

We all had to take a "customer service class" and we all got lapel pins that said "Im appreciatesd!" when we were done
12-05-2005 08:13 PM
WhiteTrashBarbie They do, but our company is very generous. I just passed 25 years, got a $2500 bonus. For 35 years, you get $3500. I don't know what you get for 10 years.
12-05-2005 03:55 PM
WWF We get service awards. Little pins to stick on your shirt.
12-05-2005 03:26 PM
irmati I get nothing, so the pen is better!
