I have come across the same problem with u

I have come across the same problem with u. What I did is to spend much more time to focus on it. Then finally I figure out the way to solve it. So what you need to do is concentration. Have a try.game guide game guide blog

Hatchy Milatchy Well, I think it is pretty obvious todo's prof was Zitty Anus.

Zitty Anus Zietanus strikes again...

I hope whoever controls the speed of the internet runs the internet doesn't get a blackout......

On second thought, why does the speed of the internet get controlled at all????? I thought it's just a fair communication of my computer with everyone else's, and it should be allowed to go as fast as all the computers IN the internet will allow........ (but hmmmmmmmm, instead they are "throttling" it way down for some reason...)

Hey don't worry pal, I failed some classes too, like gardening...

I had a COOL garden (so mad I failed the class): I used landmines to keep bunnies out of it, and I put in sprinklers that shot napalm...

Watering the plants is cool, it's like Armageddon.... Trouble thing was that at the end of each week I had to turn in whatever vegetables I grew, but I didn't have any yet (IMPATIENT!!!)... so what I had to do was I went to the store, bought some, brought them home and put them on the counter, washed them, rinsed them off, painted some dirt on them (garden-grown appearance, so they don't look fake), de-waxed them carefully with a knife, then put them in a box and brought them to class....

And so then the teacher looked at them and s OH WAIT I FORGOT, I ALSO DROWNED THEM....... haha, that is the best part...

Hang on, I have to recollect my thoughts:

Suffocation.... strangulation... life seeping out... then I hang them on a walking stick, walk with them, and throw them in the ocean....

Anyway, so the teacher looked at them and said, "What happened to these vegetables??? These are terrible!!!" and she gave me a bad grade...

ISN'T THAT DUMB???!! MY GARDEN WAS THE MOST AWESOME EVER!!!!

(this would at least be a step closer to not so stupid)

Wait, let me look up online what this class is about exactly, because maybe it's about REAL philosophies of art, like how to do awesome stuff, not how to ANALYZE it more better... ......Okay, here's a description I found:

"This course examines philosophical issues that arise concerning the creation, interpretation and viewing of art, primarily though not exclusively in the western art tradition. Topics to be discussed include: what is the "aesthetic," and who is the best judge of it? Is good art beautiful? Should art be viewed dis-interestedly? Does art imitate life or does life imitate art? What is it to get at the meaning of a work of art? Is "public art" for individual expression of the artist or the viewing public, and if so, who counts as the "public"? How does new technology affect the meaning and experience of art?"

Man, if you look at art with all that stuff in your head, how can you even ENJOY it anymore?? REAL art philosophy is cool (like how to use lighting to make cool effects)...

I can think up a class that is ACTUALLY more important than that in 2 seconds: "how to pick your nose to get maximum boogers"...

That would be useful for a LOT of people... they should teach that...

I have over 120 credits, I've been taking classes since 2003. In all this time I have never received a D, let alone an F. The only C's I ever got were after HB was born (she was born and finals were the following week)
Hmmmmmmmm, so you had to take this class just for CREDITS??? Why can't you just get a degree when you KNOW stuff??? (and what I hate most is when you HAVE TO take stupid things like Math and Social Studies in college, even if you 1) already know them way good enough to do ANY job, and 2) are already buried to the head in school-work, and have to go to sleep so many hours past midnight...)
So dumb what you have to do to get degrees, even if the stuff you do takes away so much time from what you NEED to learn... It's just making your brain abused beyond natural human levels, for even reverse benefit...

REAL degrees that you get just because you KNOW stuff would be:
- "C" Degree - I know all about a certain thing (just the thing itself, not the "pipeline" all around it)...
- "B" Degree - I ALSO know the pipeline all around it, like how to 'work' in the job and do "side stuff" about it...
- "A" Degree - I'm so good at the whole pipeline, I could do probably any job even RELATING to it...
- "AA" Degree - I dunno, something awesome...
- "AAA" Degree - I'm such an effective person, you could give me a job as a poop shoveler, and I will invent the Royal Poop Palace... (HAHAHA that's where where I want to live!!!!)

MelodyMaker Any word on the appeal?

todolist I am going to appeal the grade.

Hatchy Milatchy Honestly, just the very title of that class makes me want to punch someone in the throat. It's like the whole purpose of the class is for the prof to prove that he/she spent all those years studying something that's not fluff.

Don't get me wrong, I like philosophy and I like art just fine... but neither is something that should ever be so difficult that you could fail it even after doing the required work, especially an introductory level course.

Limeade See, I couldn't stand that shit. I would have to go in and sit down with him to find out what I did wrong. That makes no sense. Classes take up too much time and money for that type of shit

I'm sorry.

todolist I told the TA that I was having trouble with the class. All but a handful of people failed the first exam. About half of us passed the second exam.

there was no grading scale at all. Our papers were graded with a check- check or check+ whatever the fuck that is. There was no feedback or anything.

I slammed the prof and the class hard on the evaluation. No grading scale, no actual grades, no grade reports, it took up to 2 weeks to get papers back. They didn't even give us the last paper we wrote back until we turned in the final. That class was a fucking mess.

I might not even try to replace the grade. I might just take a different fine arts class. Seriously there was not a single redeemable thing about that class, I honestly learned nothing and I have no clue what I should have learned.

Think about this for a second. I didn't even take my trig final and got a C in the class. I turned in HALF of a 10 page report for the writing class and still got a B. I actually sat the final for the phil class and got an F. What on earth did he fucking want?

funkytown That sucks, todo. I'm sorry.
12-21-2008 12:52 PM
MHM I'm sorry. That's really frustrating.
I would go talk to the professor and let them know that you really struggled. Maybe they can give you some tips for taking it again.

I failed a class.

I'm irritated, but I'm not gnashing my teeth about it.

Philosophy of art. I struggled with it all term. It was the absolute worst class I have ever taken. I never did figure out what the prof wanted. I never figured out his grading. I didn't understand the material. The prof was boring as hell. I can't think of a single class where I haven't taken a single thing away. I can not for the life of me figure out the reason for this class. I learned nothing, which is apparent by the F. And I studied.

I have over 120 credits, I've been taking classes since 2003. In all this time I have never received a D, let alone an F. The only C's I ever got were after HB was born (she was born and finals were the following week)

I was hoping to eek a D out of this class just so I didn't have to retake it. Guess not. Ugh. So now I have to take this piece of shit class for a second time.

Otherwise I got an A, B, C, F. Education, writing, trig, philosophy. I'd say other than the F, not to bad considering my daughter was hospitalized the Monday before finals started.
