That sucks. The instructor I have right now would come down hard on that- he's a stickler for following rules. (Which sucks when it comes to him grading APA style.. lol ) I agree- turn their butts in. |

| 47 is Pleonasm | Please turn them in. Provide a link to the exact page where you saw the original text. Let the professor know. I would want to know if one of my students were cheating. If the professor curves grades, it hurts all the honest students. Even if the professor doesn't curve, it hurts the quality of education in general. |

Cheating! Does it annoy anyone else when you see people that are very obviously cheating? This semester I am taking 4 classes, these are just for transfer later. I don't "need" them for my degree.They are all online classes. Sometimes it is tempting to take the easy way out and doctor up a copy and paste for the discussion forums. The instructors don't really seem to read them, just check that we posted and give us the points. In my American Lit class in particular, there are at least 2 different people that are directly copy and pasting their discussions from the internet. I picked up on it because their initial posts are never in the default text. If you copy their post and google it, you can pull up their exact post from some free essay sites. I know it doesn't affect me, but some of these people are taking just one class and can't even be bothered. We are about halfway through the semester. School policy states that if they are found to be plagerizing they will be dismissed fromt he course, but they obviously are still in. The evil side of me wants to turn them in, but again....it doesn't really affect me. But damn I take 2 hours sometimes reading and researching before I do my discussion and it seems so unfair that these cheaters can just copy and paste and get the same sort of grade I am. |
