Strange networking with coaches/leader/other parents helps a ton. I love middle school because they have an activity bus! Yay! lol

Lyerin DD is really busy with cheer/gymnastics. I drive her to her stuff and occasionally do stuff for the cheer gym, but nothing too time-consuming. I quit scouts (and so did she) because it sucked. I am president of the PTC at our school, but it doesn't involve that much time by me. I just do what I can and don't feel guilty about the rest. As long as they are clean and wearing clean clothes and have good food to eat, I'm happy.

I have 3 kids a DH who works long hours and A FT job of my own. No way in hell am I going crazy with kid activities. My girls do scouts but at the moment that is our only activity. They are allowed 1 each per season if they don't conflict with each other or other things we have going on.

Give Peas A Chance DH and I both work full time. We only have one kid (so far), 4yo DS. He spends his afternoons in preschool or with a nanny. His extra-curricular activities are all either OT or SLT. I am hoping to get him into one fun activity next year - music, sports or foreign language. You do what you can.

SuzieFuQ Do you. Be your family. It's hard to not try keeping up with the *insert whoever you are trying to keep up with here* but you really don't have to.

If you're all enjoying each other and the flow of life, then don't mess with it, ya know?

califred I don['t work and all I do is volunteer an hour a week at school. I'm not into other things at all. My oldest does Science Olympiad and Debate but all I do for that is drive.

vanillerbean ohthankgod.

I'm signing dd up for afterschool care and it feels like walking through church naked turning in the forms in the office.

AMG I got over that years ago

My kid is in two afterschool programs, and that's about all we can keep up with - both DH & I work FT. Laundry, grocery shopping, house cleaning (such as it is ) gets done on the weekends.

As long as my family is (relatively ) happy, I could not give a shit about what other people do. It's been my experience that over-achievers tend to have other issues, and I'll take happy family over skeletons in the closet any old day

How much are you involved in your kids school stuff? I feel completely guilty as perfect SIL leads scouts, volunteers at the school, and coaches basketball all while working full time. I can barely manage helping with homework and making dinner and my house is falling apart. Is there a balance I'm missing?
