PussyCat I appriciate the options you guys have offered more than you know. I assure you I will look into if not all of the suggestions offered. Thank you very much.

And to answer one of the questions, I do work, only part time as a server, but I will check with a manager I respect and trust.

Again, thank you to all who offered great advice. It is up to me now to follow through. I appriciate your time.

Kat I would second the Salvation Army suggestion. They saved my uncle's life, and gave him great job training as well. He currently works for HP and is an amazing man now. A coworker of mine was also helped out tremendously by Salvation Army. Of all the organizations out there, this one doesn't get at all the press and credit it deserves.

Lyerin Do you work outside the home? If so, your workplace may have an Employee Assistance Program that you can call for free. The program can help with referrals and is confidential. If not, call your primary care doctor and ask for resources and help. They will have it to give to you.

todolist I know you said no AA because you don't relate, but...

You can't be away from your kids.
You have no insurance
you don't know where else to go

Here's what will happen if you call the AA central office. You'll get a human being on the other end. That person on the other end of the line will just sit and talk with you. If they are unable to do so they will find another person who can. There will be no judgment on their part.

You can ask them where to get help that isn't AA. They will have an answer for you. They will know where you can go to get free, low cost help.
