Busty McBust I am sorry you are going through this. I would always get a second - even third - opinion before allowing surgery, but I assume you have already done that.

Keep in mind that those are common, fairly simple procedures so yes, she should be fine...

The fever, sleepiness and runny nose sound like a cold to me, I don't think it's teething-related.

Jane I hope everything goes well for you all on Monday.

My DD had her adenoids scraped and tubes inserted in her ears about 2 months ago - it is really helping, although one of the tubes has already fallen out so she might have to have another operation.

My suggestion is to be in recovery with her when she is waking up. My DD freaked out when she woke up and we weren't there - they didn't let us in recovery until she woke up. Go figure

don't ask
DD is having surgery Monday and a Molars question.

We went to an ENT specialist and he said very firmly that dd needs ear tubes. She's had numerous ear infections since November.

He also said she needs her adnoids out due to the fact that she has never breathed through her nose. It's always through her mouth. He feels her adnoids are enlarged and putting pressure on which ever part(he told me the name, but I forgot) opens up the nostril to breathe.

So, yeah, everyone and their dog has told me that she'll be fine and don't worry and she'll be up playing by noon, yadda, yadda, yadda. I am still worried. I hate the fact that she has to be put under anesthetic, although I do understand it's necessary.

I guess I'm just having jitters. One thing that has thrown us for a loop this week. She is getting her MOLARS! Which of course, is causing fever and a runny nose. She didn't run fever today, though she fell asleep while we were sitting together rocking at SEVEN THIRTY! That is HIGHLY unusual. So, is that common when the Molars come in? I don't remember her being so sleepy with the other teeth.

Sorry this is a book. I am a bundle of nerves tonight I guess. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
