Solids will fill her up and she will miss out on the calories she needs. Stick with bfing and if you are worried you could always do a nurse-a-thon or two and spend the day with her in bed.

Are the peds recommending solids? Unless they are, for some specific reason, I wouldn't do it. Babies don't get anything like as many calories from the tiny amount of solids they can eat at this age as they do from milk or formula; it could actually backfire, if she fills up from the bulkiness of the solids, and doesn't have an appetite for the calories in milk/formula.
Didn't Sawyer have an absorption problem of some sort? Are your peds testing Miller for that?

so M is a little peanut - 10lbs 8.5oz at her 4 (well 4.5 really) mo appt.
we still BF, but she gets a bottle of formula at the gym (doesnt miss a feeding, though - that is extra. she BFs at 830, bottle at the gym in between, and then BFs again at 1130).
she eats on demand which is basically every 3hrs - doubles up a bit in the evening.
the dr's arent worried about her weight yet and is just small on her own curve. which is cool with me.
would you still wait for solids (i really have no intention until 6 months or later) or do you think *adding* a little meal here and there would bulk her up a bit? maybe after she BFs at those times?
